In just one week, you'll have a fully functional boat... and will have had fun building it!

How it works:

We supply the design, the materials, and the instruction; you supply the energy and some evening and weekend time.
You leave with a complete boat, simply finished, that you can use as-is. You can subsequently enhance the finish in any way you want.
Your boat will be far lighter than a mass-produced boat. The boat pictured here is only 25 pounds.
One week (four weekday evenings, and 1½ weekend days) is all it takes!
The all-inclusive cost is $850... less than the cost of many run-of-the-mill mass-produced boats.

Our Build the Bon Temps class provides instruction, working space, and all materials for $850. You leave the class with a complete boat that will weigh about 25 lb -- half the weight of a production kayak! The total cost is far lower than that for many build-a-boat courses, in which you must pay an additional fee for the kit of materials.

The Short Course in Small Boat Design and Construction discusses and demonstrates the techniques used to design and build a small boat like the Bon Temps. The course consists of three 2-hour classes, held on the first three Tuesday evenings of each month. This is an ideal course for a parent-child team, and there is no additional charge for bringing one child.
